Heavy duty compression springs are ideally suited for applications where high
loads are needed and limited space is available. SPEC heavy duty springs are
designed to work in a hole or over a shaft.
Material
Chrome Silicon per Associated Spring SV 9254 or Chrome Vanadium per SAE
6150 - rectangular wire with rounded corners.
These materials are not recommended for applications where the temperature
exceeds 425 deg F (220 deg C).
Direction of Helix
Right hand.
Ends
Squared and ground.
Free length is for reference only.
O.D. and I.D. are designed to fit in hole or over rod as specified in
table. Outside diameters are dimensioned to allow a minimum of .020" clearance
in the specified hole diameter when the spring is in the free state.
To determine approximate solid height; see notation number in hole size
column. Multiply the free length by the appropriate values that correspond to
the notation number 1 x .53 - 2 x .65 - 3 x .73 - 4 x .77
Finishes
Standard finish is that of the normal wire. Due to residual stresses
induced during the manufacturing process electroplating is not recommended.
Other finishes available on request.
